Judith Corkill - piano and bassoon
Judith studied at the Royal College of Music under Eric Harrison and John Barstow for piano; Kerry Camder for bassoon and Millicent Silver for harpsichord. Since then she has played the bassoon in orchestras and choral societies and run a wind octet. She has also taught all age groups in both the public and private sector from beginners to Diploma Standard.

Emma Fowler - saxophone
Emma studied saxophone and clarinet at the London College of Music, followed by a year at the Amsterdam conservatoire. since then Emma has performed in a wide variety of settings including many productions at the Royal National Theatre - Sweeney Todd, Guys and Dolls, A Little night Music and Theatre of Blood. Also many West End shows including the Full Monty, Witches of Eastwick, Oklahoma! and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She has worked with the BBC concert orchestra and Been a member of the contemporary music ensemble ‘Icebreaker’ and can be heard playing a flute improvisation on Madonna’s ‘Beautiful Stranger’.

Charys Green - Clarinet
Charys graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2002 with a distinction in her postgraduate diploma after she gained a first class honours degree from the Royal College of Music in 2000. While she was studying she secured awards from the Musicians Benevolent Fund, Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, Ann Driver Trust and Countess of Munster Scheme.
She has achieved much success in her career to date performing concertos with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. In competitions, she has been a finalist in the Yamaha woodwind and brass scholarships, a woodwind finalist in BBC Young Musician od the Year and a semifinalist in the Young Concert Artists Trust. She has also performed with many of Britains top orchestras including the English National Opera, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
A keen chamber musician, Charys is a founder member of the Zephyr Ensemble of London who have performed extensively in the UK including at prestigious venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and Festival Hall.

Alan Jones - Clarinet, Saxophone and flute
Alan has had many years as a musician and woodwind teacher. After service with the Band of H.M. Grenadier Guards he became a Mecca Band leader fronting a fourteen piece dance orchestra; saxophonist with pop star Adam Faith’s backing group the ‘Roulettes” and a session musician recording and broadcasting with many top name artists. He has appeared at major concert venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Festival Hall and London Palladium under the baton of many leading conductors. His recent years have been devoted to mainly teaching and playing Jazz.

Hugh studied in London with Ann Cherry and David Butt at the Royal College of Music before furthering his studies with the renowned soloist Wissam Boustany. Having studied with such luminaries Hugh wonders why, some days, he finds it difficult to play an F major scale smoothly. He has played as soloist in many of the major London venues and has recently conducted one of his ensembles at the Barbican Hall. For his sins he is a devoted supporter of Scunthorpe United and also loves to perform close up card magic.

After completing a degree in English and Music Catherine returned to Hertfordshire to begin a career in music teaching. She has been teaching the oboe and recorder for twelve years. She has worked at Bishop’s Stortford College for the last seven years and very much enjoys her work here. Throughout her career so far she has developed some excellent oboists, some of whom have gone on to study further at London colleges such as Trinity and the Royal Academy.
Catherine performs regularly in many chamber and symphony orchestras as well as being a busy recital soloist on both oboe and recorder. She is also a member of Quadrivium, a woodwind quartet, that perform many concerts and demonstrate the woodwind family of instruments to children of all ages.
