The College is pleased to offer generous scholarships to pupils who
show musical potential and satisfy the relevant criteria below. The
Director of College Music welcomes inquiries and potential candidates
are warmly encouraged to come and visit the department. If you are
unsure whether you might qualify for an award do ring Andrew Bruce on
01279 838598 for an informal chat or e-mail him.
Under 11
Candidates for an Under 11 award should have reached grade 3 standard
on their instrument and show an interest in studying a second
instrument.
Under 14
Candidates for an under 14 award should have reached grade 5 standard
on their first instrument and be learning a second instrument.
Sixth Form
Candidates for a Sixth Form award should have reached grade 8 standard
on their first instrument and grade 3 on a second instrument.
All awards are made based on
performance
at audition.
Candidates usually offer singing as well as their instruments.
